Make sure the battery is good and it’s all installed correctly. Ideally, a good buffer shouldn’t have a characteristic “sound” or change your tone. It should help your guitar drive long cables and heavy loads. If you’re having trouble hearing a dramatic difference, it may be that your rig is in good shape to begin with. In order to highlight the effect of the Redeemer, try it out on some of the longest cheapest cables you have, or plug your guitar directly into the line input of a PA or recording console – while you’re at it, try rolling back the volume knob to 4 or 5… guitars with passive pick-ups will lose clarity and become muffled under these conditions. Even active pick-ups begin to lose tone if you listen carefully. Now, listen closely when you switch the Redeemer “IN” and “OUT” and you should be able to tell the difference.
