Great interview with Ricky Phillips (currently with Styx)

I recently went out to see Yes and Styx play here in town and was really blown away by how great a show Styx put on. So when i came across this little article on Guitarworld, it caught my eye. As I read it, I realized that a lot of his responses to the interviewer's (Allison Richter) questions are very relavent to musicians trying to make a successful living today.

Reform The Resistance has a new video

Reform The Resistance (formerly Justifide - Ardent Records) have just released their first music video since they signed with Wuli Records earlier this year. They released The Truth Is Dangerous in May of this year and have already had a cut featured on the video game Rock Band.

The guys are big supporters of the Creation Audio Labs product line. They use the MW1 in the studio, have Redeemers in all their guitars and basses and Holy Fire OD's on the pedalboards.

This is one of the best musict videos I've seen in a long while. Enjoy!

Creation Audio Labs Ghost Mod to be featured in Pro Audio Review

A few months ago, we had the pleasure of meeting Rob Tavaglione (Catalyst Recording - Charlotte, NC). He was interested in documenting our Ghost mod and taking measurements before and after of the specs for an article he was writing for Pro Audio Review Magazine. He brought along editor Frank Wells to run the diagnostics with the Audio Precision equipment. I knew they were happy with the results that they recorded, but I never expected them to make the article the cover story of their Aug 2011 issue.

We had a great time getting to know those guys over the few days it took to do the mod and run the tests. Thank you to Rob and Frank and PAR for your interest in our Ghost Modification

It's always nice to meet the artists that use our gear in person, and today I had the opportunity to sit down and have a cup of coffee with Patrick Matera (Katy Perry/Moby/Kenna). He had a free day before Katy's show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and was nice enough to take share some of that time with me.

It was the early afternoon, so we decided to grab a coffee at the Starbucks down the street from his Hotel. It was packed and there was no parking, but luckily there was another one just one block further. After chatting about pedals while sipping Seattle's finest, Patrick was kind enough to sign one of the pedals that uses on both his pedalboards. So be looking for a Holy Fire gear giveaway in the near future!

Nashville Amp Expo is this weekend!

The Nashville Amp Expo returns the Hyatt Place, Brentwood on Aug 19-21, 2011. It is an event that allows the public to meet the makers of the highest quality guitars, amps, studio gear and effects units one-on-one. Admission is only $5 and gains you access to the exhibitors, the seminars, a ton of entertainment and Gear Giveaways! There is no other show with this format in the Southeast region.
